Peace in the Middle of a Ragging Storm

John Hagee

“If you have any doubt that the world around us is broken, a quick glance around will let you know that we are living in uncertain times. The world around us is in a state of constant chaos.”

It's easy to understand why so many feel overwhelmed and depressed, living in fear and anxiety. In the midst of all the madness, I want to encourage you today that as a child of the King, you can have the best of things in the worst of times. You truly can live with inexplicable peace in your heart in the middle of a raging storm.

From the foundation of the earth, GOD HAS A PLAN FOR YOU. He did not suddenly decide that a pandemic would take you from the forefront of His mind. The events around the election and inauguration did not come as a surprise to our all-knowing, all-powerful God. He delights in your well-being, and every step you take is ordered by Him. In a world that has lost its direction, He will direct your path. All we have to do is put our trust in Him and obey His Word.

Have you felt anxious during these unprecedented times? I think that most of us have. The Bible tells us to be anxious for nothing. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Where have the tumultuous past 12 months taken you? Do you find yourself in a frenzied state of panic and fear? Or, are you experiencing a deeper, more meaningful relationship with Christ? The good news today is that the Creator of the Universe still sits on the throne, and He is in total control.

You can be confident of this... World leaders will come and go, but God will have the last word.

So, I say to you again...”be anxious for nothing!”

I know that it is more easily said than done. But, when you feel overwhelmed by your circumstances, open the pages of God’s Holy Word and let your mind be healed from the anxiety that festers. Give your cares to God. He loves you so much that He sent His only Son to die in your place that you might be set free, redeemed...and healed by the precious Blood of the Lamb.

Isaiah 53:5 tells us, “He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes, we are healed.”

Are you sick in your body? Do you have a loved one or friends suffering from COVID-19? I can tell you from personal experience that COVID is a very real, physical fight. And with any physical illness, there is a mental component that you must acknowledge. Fear. Fear will try to creep in. The enemy will play tricks with your mind, and you will go from feeling like “more than a conqueror” to utterly defeated in no time at all.

Do not give the enemy an opening. Put on the whole armor of God every day (Ephesians 6:11-18). We have to consistently remind ourselves that our battle is not against flesh and blood. When we are weak in our body or feeling drained...Stop, and pray for healing. Lay your burden at the Cross and leave it there.

We also know that praise precedes the victory, so as you pray, GIVE THANKS! Give God thanks on the good days and the bad. Our God is more than worthy! Take a few moments and declare, “Lord, I don’t know why I am going through this trial, but I trust you, knowing that You are working all things together for my good. Heal me and give me your peace that surpasses all understanding.”

Lay your heart before the Lord. You do your part, and God will do His.

Do you need healing in your body? Maybe you need a miracle healing in your finances? Do you have a relationship or marriage that needs God’s healing touch? Don’t let the enemy rob you of your peace, of your joy... or of one drop of hope.

Be confident in this... WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED. Our hope is not in the government or financial institutions. Our hope is in Christ Jesus. Our faith is not based upon our circumstances or the chaos presented by the daily dose of the liberal media. That is not the life we are called to live. We are here for a certain number of days, and we should live each of them to bring glory to our Creator, share the Good News of the Gospel, and enjoy the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living (Psalm 27:13).

Let’s all commit ourselves today to living our lives to the fullest.

Don’t live for tomorrow, next month, or next year. Stop waiting for your circumstances to change to live your life! Get busy living for today. Live your life to the absolute fullest, giving God the glory... for every good and perfect gift comes from above (James 1:17).

If you are sick in your body, praise Him for the healing that’s on the way. If you feel broken and have a relationship that needs mending...know that God can restore all things. Has this year been challenging to your finances? Our God owns the cattle on a thousand hills. He sees your need and wants to bless you “exceedingly and abundantly beyond anything that you can ever ask, think or imagine.” (Ephesians 3:20). Turn your concerns over to Him and know that when you are following God’s laws, you can live a blessed life.

I love the promises of Psalm 30:5.

“For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”

When you feel like you are drowning in pain and cannot see the answer on the horizon, refuse to let the seeds of fear and doubt creep in. Don’t let the enemy tell you that you are not worthy that you don’t deserve healing. We don’t deserve salvation. But God gave His only Son so that we can have life and have it abundantly. You were purchased with a cost that could only be paid through the shed Blood of Jesus Christ. Think like it. Act like it. Live like it! Your victory is on the way!

God’s power is without limit. His love for you is beyond human comprehension. Whatever you need today, leave it in the hands of the Master. There is power in the name of Jesus. There is healing in the name of Jesus. When you are feeling down and out, know that God is up to something.

At the mention of His name, angels stand at alert, and demons tremble. Cry out to God today, and He will heal you from the thing that concerns you most. Don’t waste another moment living in despair! You were created to live a life of service to the King, a life with blessings untold and hope renewed with the dawning of each new day.
