The Bible is filled with good news, the kind of news that the world needs to hear. It has the power to erase all uncertainty and fill your life with absolute confidence that God is on His throne and everything is going to be all right. IF YOU WANT A LIFE FILLED WITH PEACE IN THE MIDDLE OF ABSOLUTE CHAOS…DRENCH YOUR LIFE IN THE GOOD NEWS.
Luke 4:16-19 says, “So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written: "The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.”
Whatever you are lacking in your life today, if you accept Jesus into your heart, soul, mind and body… you will find everything that you have been seeking and so much more. That IS good news that comes completely enveloped in supernatural favor!
The world is desperately searching for good news. We are saturated with news on every side. It comes to us from websites and networks. We hear it on radio shows, read it from bloggers and watch it play out on social media. We receive “late-breaking” updates 24 hours of the night and day… and then wonder why we suffer from depression and anxiety.
What are you listening to? What you listen to will determine what you believe. What you believe will determine the quality of your life.
When all you listen to is the news of the world, you begin to believe what the world says. You begin to feel tormented by the negative news that spreads like wildfire… whether it’s true or not. Romans 10:17 tells us that “…faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
If you’re looking for good news today, for a positive impact to your life instead of the negative drivel that we are so accustomed to hearing day in and day out… the Bible is the best news you could ever digest, the best guide you could ever choose to live by. It is the unadulterated truth that sets the captive free. The Bible is a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path.
This incredible news is for those who are sick in their body. The Bible is health to your navel and marrow to your bones. This news is for those who hunger and thirst, because it is heaven’s bread. If you drink from this living water, you will never thirst again.
The Bible is good news for the wounded and the weary, for the broken and shattered, the battered and hurting… because it does not return void. It always accomplishes the purpose for which it was sent.
God’s truth endures forever. His mercy and faithfulness extend from generation to generation. God’s Word provides for you. It protects and comforts you. It guides you… and so much more.
Don’t let the world weigh you down with what’s going wrong. Add Jesus Christ to your life, knowing that with Him on your side nothing is impossible. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Besides Him, there is none other.
Good news comes from good sources. Not all news is good. It might sound good when you hear it at first, but, if what is being said is not factual or not effective in your life, you might as well ignore it.
Not only does good news come from good sources, but the quality of your news is determined by the character of the individual that is relaying the news. We have all heard news from someone that is absolutely not worth listening to. Keep moving. This is not a good source for you to absorb into your spirit.
Is your news coming from outside of God’s house? If Jesus is our example, then we see in today’s verse (Luke 4:16-19) that He was found in the synagogue, as was His custom. Is that your custom, or are you looking for information anywhere you can find it? Consider the source. What is the character of your source?
If you are seeking out quality sources, you will find them. But you will never find a better source than when you are sitting in the presence of God. Do you set aside time for Him in your daily life? You cannot survive this life without Him. You cannot thrive without Him.
God will give you the opportunity to try things on your own, but I suggest you humble yourself before Him and invite Him into your situation. He will lift you up. He will take the heavy weight off your shoulders because the battle has already been won. He is just waiting for you to lay it at His feet.
You were created to be the head and not the tail. Come into His presence with thanksgiving and see the goodness of God saturate every corner of your life. This is the place where you receive the anointing that destroys the yoke of bondage and sets the captive free. This is where you gain supernatural strength to go out and fight the good fight of faith.
David said, "I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go into the house of the LORD’" (Psalm 122:1). Do you enjoy attending church? Or do you just show up with a chip on your shoulder? You will live a much sweeter life when you add Christ to your existence. The plans He has for you… you cannot begin to imagine.
Give Him your time cheerfully, come to His house willingly and gladly. Taste and see that the Lord is good. Everything that you have in this life, God has given to you. Everything you will have in the next life… God sent His Son to Calvary’s Cross to give you. You and I don’t deserve this gift, the gift of eternal life and complete redemption… but He willingly gave it to us.
There is not a problem that you will ever face, that you and God can’t conquer. The two of you together can crush any mountain of impossibility. Saturate your life with His presence, with the Good News found in His Holy Word. Seek His will. Talk to your problems about your God. For when God is on your side, you cannot fail!
