If you find yourself walking in the same ruts, circling the same mountains, and facing the same problems.
You need to make it a priority in your life to act in obedience to the last thing God told you to do. Delayed obedience is a sophisticated way of saying that you are in open rebellion to God. Until you want to solve the problem, you're not going to solve it. Until you want to live in obedience to God, you will make a career living in the wilderness.
The children of Israel were in the desert for 40 years because they had not obeyed the Lord (Joshua 5:6). An entire generation was buried in the sand because they were too stiff-necked to follow God in faith. You don’t have to die in the wilderness. You can possess the promised land. Don’t make the same mistakes that Israel made.
Don’t only know about the Word of God, or speak highly of the Word of God, or even keep a Bible on your nightstand, but never obey what it tells you to do. If you want to live in the land that flows with milk and honey, which represents your business or personal success, you must organize your life in such a way that you live in obedience to the Word of God.
You don’t have to live the rest of your life in a wilderness with your job, your relationships, or your dreams. Right now, and right where you are, determine that you will diligently obey the voice of the Lord. Motion is not progress. The only activity that matters for you is to get busy doing not a full list of good things, but the thing that God Himself has assigned for you.
SPEND TIME IN PRAYER AND ASK THE LORD WHAT IS ON HIS HEART FOR YOU.
What has He called you to do? Is it writing a book, starting a business, or planting a church? Do you feel the tug in your heart to move to the mission field, start a family, or reconcile with an old friend?
Fill your heart and mind with the Word of God and your spirit will be more sensitive to the voice of the Lord. Make a list of the things the Lord has told you to do. As you walk in obedience, you will begin to feel the pleasure of the Lord and the favor of God upon the things you set your hand to do. What has God called you to do? What can you do today towards fulfilling that assignment?
