Sanctuary of Hope Chooses LIFE

Sanctuary of Hope, many have asked where the motivation for this project began. The answer is simple. As a teenager, I was employed by an orphanage in Houston, Texas. It was there that I saw life through the eyes of an orphan. It was there that I saw the pain of rejection, and the agony of not having a family. It was heart-wrenching to watch these children, week after week, as no one came to visit them.

As an adult, when I first came to San Antonio in the late 1960s, I tried to start an orphanage and was prevented from doing so by circumstances that were far beyond my control. But those same needs that I had first-hand experience with all those years ago, still remain. Not only do we need to provide a home for orphans, but we also are looking to provide answers for their mothers, who often find themselves victims of unfortunate circumstances themselves. John Hagee Ministries is aiming to provide those answers in the Sanctuary of Hope.

Presently, organizations like Planned Parenthood are literally destroying the future generations of this nation. When a mother walks into one of these clinics for an abortion, they are handing their unborn child a death sentence. Sanctuary of Hope gives an unwed mother the opportunity to give her child a LIFE sentence.

Sanctuary of Hope aims to be a refuge for unwed mothers and a sanctuary for children who do not have a family. It will be a place where young mothers can come, give birth to their children, and be given the opportunity to raise them, or to adopt them out to godly families.

Sanctuary of Hope will strive to equip young mothers with the support they seek in the various forms that they may need it. This includes everything from practical training in parental and life skills, to continuing education opportunities so that these women can equip themselves for a better and brighter future and break any cycle of poverty that may have contributed to their plight.

Jesus said, in Matthew 19:14, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” James 1:27 says, “Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.”

We preach against abortion, but in addition to taking a stand against this practice, we must also provide an alternative answer for these young mothers who at times feel they have no other options when they find themselves in seemingly impossible circumstances. We need to give them, and their unborn children, a viable option for their collective futures, and Sanctuary of Hope plans on being just that.

As we look to break ground in the coming year, I would be remiss if I didn’t personally thank each and every one of you who have had a hand in making this vision become a reality... a reality that will permanently change lives.

When we get to heaven, God isn’t going to thank me for putting together the Sanctuary of Hope. He is going to reward those who have made it a possibility. Thank you for your support! I know that many of you make great sacrifices in order to be a part of this phenomenal outreach and for that I humbly thank you and am eternally grateful.

Be sure to watch our Sanctuary of Hope program on broadcast on January 24th as we cast the vision for this worthy outreach. Thank you for considering becoming a part of one of the greatest causes that John Hagee Ministries has ever endeavored. May God bless you and those you love,
