Inside the Holy of Holies, the Ark of the Covenant is covered in gold. On top of the Ark is blood from the sacrificial animal. The solid gold angels on each side of the Ark look down on the top of the Ark, the mercy seat. Inside are the Ten Commandments. God looks through the blood of the Lamb before He sees any judgment that should come our way. You can’t escape His goodness or His mercy.
