The Search for Peace
John Hagee
We are living in an age of anxiety. Fear grips the heart of this nation—political chaos, social unrest, and personal uncertainty have driven Americans into isolation, frustration, and desperation. People are searching for peace, but political peace and spiritual peace are not the same. Political peace can be taken away by elected or unelected officials. Spiritual peace, however, comes only from God and is secured through Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace. You won’t find peace in a ballot box or a bottle. You’ll find it at the foot of the Cross.
True peace is not the absence of trouble—it’s the presence of Jesus. Luke 2:14 says, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men.” But the original Greek clarifies: peace comes to those “with whom God is pleased.” Isaiah 57:20 reminds us that the wicked are like the troubled sea, unable to rest. The world can promise peace, but it cannot deliver it. Peace is a gift from God to those who know Him, trust Him, and bow their knee to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. If you are searching for peace today—stop searching the world. Start seeking God.
