What Every Woman Wants in a Man
John Hagee
Success in marriage is more than finding the right person—it’s also a matter of being the right person. Too many people walk into marriage looking for happiness, but you will not find happiness in marriage if you don’t take happiness into marriage. God did not design marriage to complete you; He designed it to refine you. Before marriage, opposites attract. After marriage, opposites irritate. And in that irritation, God begins to reveal whether we are willing to grow in love, patience, and understanding.
Scripture commands husbands in 1 Peter 3:7 to “dwell with your wives with understanding… that your prayers may not be hindered.” Understanding is not optional—it is spiritual obedience. Sensitivity, compassion, and sacrificial love are not weaknesses; they are strengths rooted in Christ Himself. When a husband loves as Christ loves, when he seeks to understand rather than to win, he builds a marriage that honors God and invites His blessing. That’s God’s Word for today.
